Rooftop PV system with renovated green roof in Ettlingen
In Ettlingen, we delivered a rooftop PV system with a capacity of 241.19 kWp on a retail department store. Across a PV area of 4,948 m², 542 modules generate clean electricity – on a green roof that had previously undergone extensive renovation.
Challenge
Before the installation could begin, the roof was extensively renovated by a roofer – which required particularly close coordination with all the trades involved. The many structural details called for precise planning and a high degree of flexibility in laying out the PV area. There was also the existing, older electrical infrastructure: the building's main distribution board is not expected to be replaced for around a year.
Solution
A ballasted mounting system was used on the renovated green roof. We prepared the cable routing so that the later switch to the new main distribution board can be carried out smoothly. Thanks to well-thought-out planning, close coordination with everyone involved and an experienced on-site team, the system was implemented efficiently and safely despite the complex conditions.
